BRILA Secretary General Kang Yu attended the “CNISCO” event in Shanghai

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China National Institute for SCO International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation ("CNISCO"). On September 13th, the Opening Ceremony of the SCO Alumni Association and the Forum of High-Level International Talent Training were successfully held. The event was attended by more than 200 delegates, including representatives from international organizations, government departments of SCO Member States, the Supreme People's Court of PRC, and the Ministry of Justice of PRC, the council members of CNISCO, and alumni from international training courses of CNISCO. Kang Yu, Secretary-General of the Belt and Road International Lawyers Association (BRILA), was invited to attend the event.

Mr. Masadykov Talatbek, Special Envoy of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Yermekbayev Nurlan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of SCO, Mr. Leif Villadsen, Deputy Director of United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, Mr. Mushir Alam, Former Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Ms. Yu Xiaoyu, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Supreme People’s Court, PRC, Ms. Yin Xuemei, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Justice, PRC, Mr. Kang Yu, Secretary-General of BRILA, Ms. Olga Aleksandrova, Rector of the All-Russian State University of Justice, Mr. Zheng Gaojian, President of Gansu University of Political Science and Law and other guests addressed the event respectively.

Secretary-General Kang Yu pointed out in his address that the development of the SCO has injected a momentum to the world undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, which has ushered in a new chapter of inter-state relations and regional cooperation, and contributed new concepts, new insights and new solutions to regional and global governance. CNISCO actively promotes foreign exchanges and academic cooperation between China and other SCO member states, constructively carries out various trainings and vigorously promotes the construction of think-tanks and builds a high-quality forum platform, which has made a significant impact in China and beyond. He was hopeful that BRILA and CNISCO will strengthen exchanges and communication, deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote joint development.

Secretary-General Kang Yu addresses the event

 

On September 13th, 2013, at the 13th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, China initiated the establishment of CNISCO in Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, and was willing to use this platform to train judicial talents for other member states. In the last decade, CNISCO has organized 65 online and offline training courses, with 2,341 trainees involving 71 countries, as well as 16 multilateral seminars. There are nine training languages provided, including Russian, English, Persian, Mongolian, Thai, Cambodian, Lao, Burmese and Vietnamese.
